Russian sports journalist Alexei Andronov congratulated Sergey Rebrov on his appointment as the new head coach of the Ukrainian national team. Rebrov, who turned 49 on June 3, played for Kazan Rubin from 2008 to 2009 and has also led Dynamo Kiev, Ferencváros, and Al Ain to multiple titles during his coaching career. Andronov praised Rebrov’s dedication to football and his ability to achieve maximum results with his teams. He also revealed that Rebrov had received a serious offer to lead a top Russian club but turned it down to take on the challenging role of coaching his country’s national team.

The famous Russian journalist and commentator Oleksiy Andronov turned to Sergey Rebrov, who was officially appointed as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team on June 7.

Serhiy Rebrov was officially introduced as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team on Wednesday, June 7.

Russian sports journalist Alexei Andronov turned to his Ukrainian mentor and wrote a publication on his social network, called “Letter to a Friend”.

“On June 3, Sergei Rebrov, one of the best strikers of the post-Soviet football era, turned 49 years old. A few days later, he was approved as the head coach of the Ukrainian national team. Contract until the 2026 World Cup.

Dude, I’m happy for you. You have served football all your life, you have been honest with it everywhere. You have earned the right to lead your country’s national team. Even in difficult times for them (the country and the national team),” Andronov wrote.

Andronov recalled that Rebrov played for Kazan Rubin from 2008 to 2009.

Alexei also said that Sergei had an offer to lead one of Russia’s leading clubs.

“Now the media shyly remembers that you are the champion of Russia. With Ruby. I will say more. You got a very serious offer from a top Russian club. But he (who can’t be called he) is already walking. You didn’t come. And he did the right thing,” Andronov said.

The journalist noted that Rebrov always achieves the maximum goal with his team.

“Shame is useless. Sergei Rebrov has always served Football. Never served anyone. not playing I do not seek happiness in a political context.

You are one of the most decorated coaches in terms of years/tournaments. In nine years of coaching, you have been champion six (!!!) times. Someone laughed (I heard) “what champion”? Leave it. Who doesn’t hold anything heavier than a sandwich in his hands – he always laughs,” said the reporter.

Andronov, who is a Borussia Dortmund fan, once dreamed of Rebrov leading the top German club. The team last season missed out on becoming German champions in the final round.

“You know, for several years now I have dreamed of you leading Borussia Dortmund – I used to say this … Maybe, this is too big a risk for him. Although I am absolutely sure that you will play the championship match differently,” Andronov wrote.

Aleksey wished Rebrov good luck in his new job and said that the Ukrainian specialist will be able to overcome all difficulties.

“You are taking on a very difficult job. No one in the world can understand this, because no one has ever worked in such conditions. I believe. You will win. Born to crawl – cannot fly, and born to win – will overcome all difficulties. Together with like-minded people and friends.

Sergei, I am always with you! I will support and help! Forward, for victory!”, – added the Russian player.
